Product Management

Carefully Selected High-Quality Products

FEDS complies with legal regulations to inspect, label, and manage products, establishing regular inventory procedures to ensure rigorous product management, high quality, and enhance consumer trust and satisfaction. FEDS is the only department store company in Taiwan operating its own specialty international food counter, “World Gourmet.” In 2016, it introduced Fair Trade coffee, and since 2020, has continuously introduced Rainforest Alliance certified coffee, embodying “responsible retail and green consumption” and working with consumers to use purchasing power to change the world.

Product Quality and Safety Control

FEDS introduces high-quality in-house products and brands through its Merchandise Division, emphasizing product quality and establishing a comprehensive product management system. All concessionaires are required to comply with government regulations to protect consumer rights. For products with expiration dates that directly affect consumer health, such as food, beverages, and cosmetics, FEDS requires vendors to comply with regulations through concession agreements, while also implementing internal guidelines and conducting random inspections.

FEDS manages product labeling from the source, requiring manufacturers to properly label and trace information such as batch numbers, manufacturing dates, and expiration dates for cosmetics and samples. This helps reduce consumer disputes and create benefits for vendors, consumers, and the company. If deficiencies are found during inspections, responsible units take immediate corrective action, strengthen on-site communication, and have floor supervisors conduct daily follow-up checks in cooperation with concessionaires to ensure improvements.

Local Procurement for Shared Prosperity

FEDS considers local sourcing an important strategy for strengthening supply chain resilience and reducing environmental impacts. By prioritizing local products, FEDS shortens transportation distances, reduces logistics emissions and food carbon footprints, improves supply stability and procurement efficiency, and supports local industries.

World Gourmet adopts an “International Selection × Local Integration” strategy, introducing quality international products while actively supporting Taiwanese brands and products. In 2025, purchases from domestic suppliers accounted for 28%. FEDS will continue to strengthen supplier partnerships, increase the share of local products, and optimize product selection to enhance supply chain resilience, promote quality Taiwanese products, and support local economic development and sustainable growth.

Food Safety Management

In recent years, food and beverage has become one of the fastest-growing sectors in department stores. In response to changing consumer preferences, FEDS has introduced distinctive food concepts and influencer-inspired dining brands to attract customers and drive sales. In 2025, FEDS added 37 new dining outlets, up 48% year over year, and renovated 842 ping of space to enhance the dining environment and service quality. At the same time, FEDS strengthened food safety and environmental hygiene management from sourcing to consumption, ensuring a safe and enjoyable dining experience.

FEDS prioritizes food safety by implementing a three-tiered approach: establishing clear regulations, enforcing self-management, and conducting regular inspections. This frontline effort safeguards consumers, builds a reliable dining network, and strengthens consumer trust.

𝟭 Establishing Regulations to Ensure Compliance by Specialty Counters

To ensure the quality and safety of its food and beverage services, FEDS requires all dining vendors to sign contracts committing to management standards for dining environment, ingredient control, and kitchen safety and hygiene. In accordance with food safety and hygiene procedures, FEDS establishes management mechanisms at every operational stage, requiring vendors to comply and proactively manage these standards. FEDS conducts regular inspections of all operations to create a healthy dining environment for customers.

𝟮 Collaborative Food Safety Management

To ensure food safety, FEDS requires all counter vendors to comply with government regulations. Floor supervisors and audit units conduct preventive inspections and spot checks of food and kitchen safety and hygiene operations. If any questionable ingredients, oils, or operational deficiencies are found, they will be immediately prohibited from use and corrective actions will be implemented.

𝟯 Regular Audits for Continuous Improvement

FEDS strictly complies with food safety and drinking water regulations, conducting regular inspections to ensure service quality. Through a three-level audit system, FEDS conducts daily inspections by property management staff, regular testing by third-party organizations, and comprehensive audits by the headquarters food safety team. This tiered approach strengthens risk management and drives continuous improvement in food service quality, food safety, and customer trust.
