“Endless Circulation, Sustainable Co-Prosperity” — Three Circular Creative Concepts Unveiled

Far Eastern Department Stores (FEDS) is participating in the SDG ASIA Exhibition for the fifth consecutive year! This year’s theme, “Endless Circulation, Sustainable Co-Prosperity,” brings together three circular creative concepts in one showcase: the repurposing of exhibition fixtures, the recycling of empty beauty product bottles, and the upcycling of event canvas. Over the past five years, FEDS has engaged the public in conversations about sustainability through different themes and interactive experiences each year. This year, the focus is placed on “circularity,” integrating resource regeneration into curation, consumption, and daily life, so that sustainability moves from concept into everyday practice.

The Asia-Pacific and Taiwan Sustainability Action Awards ceremony was held on the first day of the exhibition, where FEDS was honored with one Silver and two Bronze awards in the Taiwan Sustainability Action Awards. The three award-winning initiatives span environmental sustainability, intergenerational inclusion, and care for children and youth, each rooted in local characteristics and community needs. By leveraging the influence of its retail locations to connect with local communities, FEDS demonstrates its commitment to deep local engagement and co-creating a better life for all.

The Pillar of Sustainable Circulation: Old Exhibition Fixtures Make a Comeback
Stepping into the FEDS exhibition area, the “Pillar of Sustainable Circulation” serves as the visual centerpiece. The cylindrical form symbolizes the company’s six decades of steady operation and continuous forward progress, while its circular design conveys the endless cycle of resource regeneration. The exhibition area also redesigns structures previously used at the Taipei Lantern Festival, giving old exhibition fixtures a fresh new look through material reuse and creative transformation—bringing the theme of “endless circulation” to life down to the smallest curatorial detail.

Beauty Loop Bar: Empty Bottles Get Their Next Stop
Where does an empty beauty product bottle go next? FEDS’ “Beauty Loop Bar” empty bottle recycling program encourages the public to bring used beauty and skincare bottles back to designated collection points for recycling, while earning HAPPY GO points as a reward. This integrates recycling seamlessly into everyday consumption, opening the next chapter in the resource’s circular journey.

Picnic Canvas Gets a Glamorous Transformation: Limited-Edition Tote Bags Bring Sustainability Home
Continuing the “FEDS-Sustainability at Heart” initiative from the “2026 VOGUE Picnic Day,” the event canvas was re-cut, redesigned, and stitched into limited-edition upcycled tote bags, giving the material a second life through design and craftsmanship. The initiative also allows the public to carry the spirit of sustainability from the exhibition venue back into their everyday lives.

From an old exhibition fixture, to an empty beauty bottle, to a piece of event canvas, FEDS uses creativity to find a “next stop” for resources. Going forward, FEDS will continue to connect brands, customers, and communities, leveraging the retail industry’s close connection to daily life to promote green consumption, resource circulation, and social co-prosperity—making sustainability a lifestyle choice that everyone can take part in.
